Baylor’s Annie Vorhies (Fences) and Madaline Callaway (Reining), Fresno State’s Ana Bertozzi (Flat) and TCU’s Giorgia Medows (Horsemanship) were named Big 12 Equestrian Riders of the Month for September.

Vorhies collected two individual wins against ranked opponents on the road to start the season. The sophomore set a career-high in fences with back-to-back scores of 84 points against No. 5 Georgia and No. 10 South Carolina.

Callaway also finished 2-0 as she picked up wins against No. 5 Georgia and No. 10 South Carolina. The fifth-year senior earned her seventh-career MOP honor against South Carolina, breaking Baylor’s record for MOPs in Reining. In the Bears’ competition at Georgia, the Loveland, Colorado native tallied the largest point spread of the day in Reining. Through the two competitions, she led a Reining squad that won in dominating fashion with a combined total of 7-1.

Bertozzi earned her sixth career MOP honor in the flat as she picked up a 90-82 win against No. 3 Texas A&M. The senior finished undefeated on the day after picking up points in both Fences and Flat. Her score of 90 in the flat tied the third-highest flat score of her career.

Medows helped No. 3 TCU to a ranked win via a cumulative point advantage over No. 2 Texas A&M. The Cuba, Missouri native earned her first point and MOP of the season in Horsemanship before also earning MOP in Reining to finish the day 2-0.
