Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship Set for Whispering Pines

The 2022 Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship will take place Monday-Wednesday, April 25-27 at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas at the 7,467-yard, par-72 course.

The Big 12 Championship is a total of 72 holes played over three days, 36 holes the first day and 18 holes the second day and 18 holes the third day. The low four scores out of five over each 18 holes will determine the team championship.

Pairings for the first round are based off the most recent Sagarin rankings. The pairings for the second round of the first day will remain the same but will switch starting tees. The second round is scheduled to begin five and a half hours after the first-round tee times. The pairings for the second and third days will be based on team results from previous rounds.

No. 1 Oklahoma leads the league in the rankings followed by No. 3 Oklahoma State. Texas checks in at No. 6 with Texas Tech ranked No. 9 to mark four Big 12 teams in the top 10, the most of any conference in the NCAA. No. 29 Kansas is paired with No. 55 Baylor while No. 64 TCU will start with No. 67 Kansas State. West Virginia comes in at No. 69 and will match with No. 107 Iowa State to begin the Championship.

An awards presentation will take place immediately following the conclusion of the Championship on Wednesday. In addition to the team champion, the top 10 individual finishers and ties at the Big 12 Championship will be recognized as the All-Tournament Team. If there is a tie for medalist, there will be co-medalists.

Oklahoma State is the two-time defending team Champion while Texas’ Cole Hammer was the medalist last year. This is the first time the Championship returns to Whispering Pines since 2016 where the Longhorns captured the team title, which included the 2022 Masters Tournament winner Scottie Scheffler on the roster.

Live scoring, results and pairings can be found here.

Spectators are welcome and admission is free to the event.
