HOCKLEY, Texas – Texas totaled a 54-hole score of 876 to secure the program’s 17
th overall conference title and first Big 12 Championship since winning three in a row from 2017-19. The Longhorns had two All-Big 12 Tournament Team finishers and finished 24-over par as a team at the 6,224 yards, par-71 course at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas.
Baylor had the lowest final-round score (290), and tied for second place overall with Oklahoma State, as both teams finished with total scores of 879 (+27). Iowa State placed fourth (887, +35), which marked the Cyclones’ highest finish since 2018, with TCU following at fifth (891 +39).
The Longhorns took the lead in the second round (287) and held steady throughout the final day (298) to win by three strokes and collect the Big 12’s automatic qualification into the NCAA Division 1 Women’s Golf Championship. Texas coach Ryan Murphy has led the Horns to titles in four of the last five Big 12 Championships.
Oklahoma State’s Lianna Bailey scored a 54-hole total of 215 (+2) and procured the Cowgirls’ first Big 12 Championship individual title since Kenzie Neisen in 2016. Tied for third after the opening day, the senior moved into the lead during the second round and was able to hold off the field to stay atop after the final 18 holes. Baylor’s Addie Baggarly finished second, just a stroke back with her score of 216 (+3). Oklahoma State’s Han-Hsuan Yu, TCU’s Caitlyn Macnab and Texas’ Bohyun Park finished tied for third with scores of 217 (+4). The top 10 finishers, including ties, were named to the 2022 All-Big 12 Tournament Team.
