The University of Texas Rowing team landed five student-athletes on the Pocock Racing Shells All-America Team, the organization announced Thursday. Rowers Aspa Christodoulidis, Anna Jensen, Kaitlin Knifton and Francesca Raggi, and coxswain Rachel Rane all claimed first-team honors.

The two-time defending national champions equaled a program best with five first-team honorees, and it is the fifth time in program history in which Texas has had five total All-America selections. Christodoulidis, Knifton, Raggi and Rane each earned first-team distinction in 2021, as well.

Raggi, the 2022 Big 12 Rower of the Year, received her third career All-America honor, after also being named to the second team in 2019.

Knifton was recognized as an All-American for the second time in her career, and was also nominated for CRCA All-America honors in 2020, but the absence of competitive results or a national championship due to the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the awarding of first team and second team honors. However, the coaches of the CRCA still wanted to find a way to recognize the top performers in NCAA women's rowing.

Christodoulidis and Rane also received All-America accolades for the second time, while Jensen earned her first career All-American honor.

The quintet helped lead Texas to a second consecutive NCAA Championship and also captured the First Varsity Eight national crown for the second-straight year.

Christodoulidis, Jensen, Knifton, Raggi and Rane also helped guide the first varsity eight to a seventh-straight Big 12 individual title, as Texas won its seventh consecutive team championship and 11th overall in the 13-year history of the Big 12 Championship.

Each year, the coaches of the CRCA recognize the outstanding student-athletes in each NCAA Division (I, II and III). Student-athletes must have rowed in at least 75-percent of the team's races in the varsity boat. All-America athletes are selected from those athletes previously named first-team all-region. Criteria for selection include: boat performance, nomination rank, coach's comments, individual achievements and individual two-kilometer ergometer score.
