Iowa State’s Brinley Horras (swimmer), Lauren Kimball (diver) and Abbi Crum (newcomer) collected the eighth set of Big 12 Women’s Swimming and Diving Awards this season.
Horras recorded two top-two finishes at the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series. The senior finished first in the 1000 free (10:04.89), nearly three seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, and runner-up in the 500 free (4:56.53). It is the kinesiology and health major’s first weekly award this season and third of her career.
Kimball collected her second consecutive Conference award after her performance on the three-meter dive. The English major set the highest score (325.80) by a Cyclone on the 3-meter at the Beyer Hall pool. It is the fourth-highest score in program history, topping her previous-personal high (325.30) that she set last week at the Hawkeye Invite. She finished second in both of her events after adding a score of 288.60 in the 1-meter.
Crum added her first Conference award to her Cyclone resume after finding the medal stand in the 200 IM. The nutritional science major touched the pad with a personal-best time of 2:07.24 before adding a fourth-place finish in the 100 breast (1:05.74).
