Baylor swept the Big 12 equestrian January honors as Dominika Silvestri (Fences and Flat), Alexis Rutledge (Horsemanship) and Jenna Meimerstorf (Reining) took home the first set of 2023 Riders of the Month.

Silvestri became the first athlete to win Rider of the Month in two categories in the same month since Caroline Fuller (Baylor) in October 2021. She has three career honors, all in this season. The senior went 2-0 in Fences for the month, extending her win streak to five and improving her record to 5-2-1 on the year. She collected her second Fences MOP honor this season with a point-winning 84-76 victory against South Dakota State and became the second Baylor Bear all-time to receive five career Fences MOPs. Silvestri averaged 83 on the month and helped the Bears Fences squad to back-to-back 5-0 sweeps.

She then concluded January with her seventh consecutive win in Flat after beating the Jackrabbits and Skyhawks. The Andover, Massachusetts native sits at 7-1 on the season after collecting her second Flat MOP honor of the year and third of her career, against UT Martin. After the month of January, she has a career combined total of eight MOPs (Flat/Fences). Silvestri helped the Flat squad win two competitions and a season-high nine Jumping Seat points against South Dakota State.

Rutledge collected her first Rider of the Month honor with a 2-0 showing against No. 9 UT Martin and South Dakota State. The sophomore earned her second-career MOP honor after tying her all-time high with 79 points against the Jackrabbits. She averaged 77 points on the month and won by an average of 2.75 points.

Meimerstorf won both her points this month by an average of 0.75 points after winning 74.5-74 against No. 9 UT Martin and 70-69 against South Dakota State. Her two wins gave her an average of 72.25 for the month of January led by the team-high 74.5 against UT Martin. The Russellville, Arkansas native received her third MOP of the season in the win over the No. 9 Skyhawks.
