HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Oklahoma defended last year’s title by shooting a Conference record 72-hole total of 1119 (-1) to claim the 2023 Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship, held at Prairie Dunes Country Club.
The Sooners led all three days of the Championship and were the only team to register an overall score under par. TCU had the lowest score of the final day (279, -1) and jumped up three spots to place second scoring 1137 (+17). Texas Tech finished in third place (1141, +21).
TTU’s Ludvig Aberg earned his second straight Conference individual title after posting the lowest individual score in Championship history with a 15-under 265. He is the first Big 12 men’s golfer to claim back-to-back medalist honors. Oklahoma State’s Jonas Baumgartner (-7), Texas’ Brian Stark (-6), and OU’s Patrick Welch (-2) and Drew Goodman (E) finished in the top five after shooting at-par or under. The top 10 places, including ties were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The 2023 Division I Men’s golf selections will be announced Wednesday, May 3 at Noon CT/ 1 p.m. ET on the Golf Channel.
