TTU Sweeps Week 2 Big 12 ITF Honors

Texas Tech swept the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field weekly awards as Caleb Dean (men’s) and Temitope Adeshina (women’s) set NCAA-leading marks at the Corky Classic.

Dean was the top collegiate athlete to cross the line in the 60-meter hurdles with a second-place finish and a time of 7.55 seconds. The graduate senior was close to clipping his school record time of 7.52, which he set when he claimed gold at the Big 12 Indoor Championship last season. His mark leads the nation and is ranked second in the world. He finished the weekend as a member of TTU’s 4x400 relay squad that owns the country’s best time of 3:04.71.

Adeshina is the second consecutive TTU woman to earn the weekly award this season, joining teammate Alyssa Colbert. At the Corky Classic, the freshman broke a program record in the high jump after she cleared 1.96 meters (6-5). Her mark leads the NCAA and the world this season and is tied for third in NCAA records. The performance earned her a national indoor weekly honor from the USTFCCCA, a first for any TTU woman since 2021.
