BYU and Kansas State Top Leaderboard on Friday in Big 12 OTF Championship Standings

TUSCON, Ariz. – The BYU women and K-State men took the lead on the second day of the 2026 Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championship presented by Allstate at Drachman Stadium.
 
On the men’s side, K-State leads after day two with 46 points. Texas Tech (42 points) moved into second place, followed by Iowa State (37), Kansas (37) and Arizona (36).
 
BYU led the women’s side with 46 points, with Arizona (37), Baylor (35), Oklahoma State (35) and Iowa State (30 points) rounding out the top five.
 
Arizona’s Sydney Vanek earned her first Big 12 title with a leap of 6.50 meters. The Wildcats swept the shot put with Tyler Michelini’s toss of 19.91 meters and Tapenisa Havea’s throw of 16.11 meters. The pair becomes the first to take home both the indoor and outdoor Conference titles this season.
 
Baylor’s Tenly Kuhn took the women’s pole vault title with a height of 4.47 meters (14 feet 8 inches).
 
BYU’s Taylor Lovell claimed her first Big 12 title in the last event of the night with a time of 9:40.98 in the women’s steeple chase. With the mark, the junior set a new Conference and facility record.
 
John Swabik collected the Jayhawks first medal on Friday in the men’s decathlon with a score of 7,819 points. Anthony Meacham followed suit, taking home the men’s pole vault title with a vault of 5.63 meters.
 
Cincinnati’s Juliette Laracuente-Huebner claimed the women’s heptathlon title with a score of 6,086 points, becoming the first Bearcat to earn the crown.
 
Kansas State’s Tafadzwa Chikomba won the men’s long jump title with a leap of 8.27 meters (27 feet 1 ¾ inches), setting a new Conference, facility and personal record.
 
Texas Tech’s Titus Kimaru took home the gold medal in the men’s steeplechase, setting a new facility record with a time of 8:32.85.
 
The Championship’s final day begins at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday with the men’s high jump. A champion will be named following a total of 21 events between the men’s and women’s competitions.
