TCU swept the Conference’s monthly awards in September as Ashleigh Scully (fences), Laurel Smith (flat), Jessica McAllister (horsemanship) and Kylie Baker (reining) earned recognition. Scully, McAllister and Baker also earned national recognition as they earned NCEA honors in their respective disciplines.
Scully started the season 3-0 with wins against competitors from No. 1 Auburn, No. 2 SMU and No. 6 Georgia. The graduate student and 2024 Big 12 Fences Rider of the Year averaged an individual score of 88.67 for the month of September while setting a career high (92) in the season opener against SMU. It is her fifth career Conference monthly award.
Smith remains undefeated with a 2-0-1 record through the Horned Frogs’ first three meets. The senior garnered MOP honors with a 90-point ride against the Bulldogs to help secure a 10-8 team win. The Kingston, Massachusetts native also opened the season with an individual victory against the defending national champions, SMU. It is her second career Conference monthly accolade.
McAllister scored a season-high 77.5 against No. 6 Georgia to collect her third career MOP honors and first of the season. The 2024 All-Big 12 selection recorded a win margin of 1.5 points for the month as she finished 2-1. It is the senior’s fifth career Conference award and first since March 2023.
Baker completed the sweep for TCU with her first career MOP performance against Georgia. The junior secured her first career Conference award with a career-high score of 72.5 against the Bulldogs. Baker averaged a score of 69 across the three rides on her way to a 2-1 record in September.
