Arizona’s Gage DuBois (men’s diver), TCU’s Anna Kwong (women’s diver) and Utah’s Callie Eaglestone (women’s newcomer) took home the Conference’s diving awards for the seventh week of the season.
DuBois earned his second consecutive Big 12 Men’s Diver of the Week after his performance at the Texas Diving Invitational. The junior highlighted his weekend with a runner-up finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 261.95. He added a fifth-place finish on the platform dive (361.35) and a sixth-place finish in the 3-meter event (360.10) against competitors from No. 1 Texas, No. 8 Stanford and No. 23 Texas A&M.
Kwong finished atop the leaderboards with a score of 313 in the 1-meter dive and added a seventh-place result in the 3-meter dive (325.80) for the Horned Frogs. Kwong recorded zone cuts in both events as she competed against opponents from No. 2 Texas, No. 4 Stanford and then-No. 20 Texas A&M. It is her third award this season and ninth of her career.
Eaglestone competed in her first career invitational and spotlighted the weekend with an appearance in the 1-meter dive finals. The freshman recorded a score of 290.95 in the highly-respected field at the Texas Diving Invitational and added 15 points to the team score. She tallied scores of 276.95 in the 3-meter dive and 187.40 in the platform event to round out her weekend. It is her first career Conference award and second for the Utes this season.
