Baylor’s Madison Mitchell (flat) and Oklahoma State’s trio of Riley Hogan (fences), June Roberson (horsemanship) and Emma Filiatreau (reining) were named the Big 12 Equestrian Riders of the Month for November.
Mitchell earned two MOPs in November as she finished with a 2-1 record in flat for the Bears. The fifth-year student averaged a score of 83.3 and a win margin of 13 points for the month as she took down members on two top six ranked teams. Mitchell highlighted her month with a 16-point win to claim her first MOP against No. 6 Fresno State, as she helped Baylor win the discipline 4-1 and the overall meet, 12-8. Her second MOP came against No. 5 SMU where she won 84-74. It is her second Conference monthly award with her first coming for the month of January last season (2023-24).
Hogan earned her third Conference monthly award this season and fourth of her career with a 3-1 record in fences in November. The senior improved her career win total to a program-record 38 as she averaged a score of 81 through the four Cowgirl meets. She also improved her record in the discipline to 7-1 this season.
Roberson finished the fall portion of the season with a 7-0-1 record and an unblemished 4-0 horsemanship record in November. The junior marketing major collected an MOP against UC Davis as she won her discipline 75-73. The month brought her career win total to 22 as she averaged a win margin of 4.31 and increased her streak to five consecutive wins. It is her fourth career Conference monthly award.
Filiatreau rounded out the monthly awards with her second accolade of her career. The sophomore from Bardstown, Kentucky averaged a score of 73.5 in her four reining discipline wins (4-0) this month with an average win margin of 3.13. She tallied a career-high score of 74.5 against No. 7 Fresno State to earn MOP honors and added another MOP against No. 5 SMU.
