Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech and West Virginia’s men’s golf teams concluded their 2023-24 campaigns during the stroke play portions of the NCAA Championship. This season’s championship was hosted by the University of Texas at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California.
BU, OU and UT advanced to Monday’s fourth and final round of stroke play. Only the top 15 teams reached the round after 54 holes were competed between Friday and Sunday. The Sooners placed ninth missing the cutoff to the match-play portion by one shot with a final score of 26-over 1,178. The Longhorns finished at No. 13 with a score of 1,183 (+31) one spot above the Bears who tallied 1,189 (+37) after four rounds.
A trio of BU’s Johnny Keefer, UT’s Christiaan Maas and TTU’s Calum Scott concluded play in a four-way tie for 11
th on the player leaderboard. Scott qualified for Monday’s play as an individual on a non-advancing team.
Texas Tech finished in 17
th place (895, +31) while Oklahoma State tied for 23
rd with a score of 43-over 907. West Virginia procured a 28th-place finish at 913 (+49) in its ninth season since reinstation.
