BYU’s Gibb and WVU’s Quinerly Obtain Big 12 WBB Week 11 Accolades

West Virginia’s JJ Quinerly (player) and BYU’s Delaney Gibb (freshman) secured weekly Big 12 women’s basketball awards for the 11th week of the 2024-25 season.

Quinerly averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 steals, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in two wins over top 75 NET teams during the week. The senior guard scored 19 points in a 73-46 victory over Colorado before dropping 20 points in an 82-68 win against Iowa State. The Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 list member is now eighth on the WVU all-time scoring list with 1,679 points and fourth in steals all-time among Mountaineers with 286. This is the 2024 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year’s third Big 12 Player of the Week recognition of her career and first this season.

Gibb ranked third nationally among freshmen while leading league freshmen and tied for third overall in the Conference for points per game during the week with her 22-point performance on 8-of-15 shooting including 4-of-7 from behind the arc on the road against Texas Tech. The guard from Raymond, Alberta scored 18 of her 22 points in the second half while her 57.1% shooting from three ranked third in the league for the week. Gibb is the first freshman since Ayoka Lee in 2020 to win Freshman of the Week five times before February.
