Big 12 Expands Big 12 Basketball Media Days presented by New Era with Enhanced Experiences, Player Attendees Announced

The Big 12 Conference continues to innovate as it introduces new enhancements to this year’s 2025 Big 12 Basketball Media Days presented by New Era, held at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.

These enhancements include:
  • New Era Sponsorship: In addition to being the presenting sponsor, New Era will provide official co-branded media gifts for all attendees.
  • Sports Illustrated Swim Beauty Bar: A special addition to the women’s day, offering student-athletes and coaches access to professional hair and makeup touch-ups throughout the day.
  • Full Media Partner Presence: All five of the league’s television partners — ESPN, FOX, CBS, TNT and NBC — will be on-site to capture the distinctive look and energy of Big 12 basketball.
  • Expanded Digital & Influencer Coverage: Bleacher Report, Lethal Shooter, PassThaBall and Olivia Petnicki will provide behind-the-scenes coverage from Kansas City, including a new shooting skills challenge featuring Big 12 student-athletes.
  • The Big 12 Arrival Walk: A black-carpet entrance allowing players and coaches to showcase their style and personal brand as they arrive at T-Mobile Center.
  • Kid Commissioner Debut: A new partnership with Children’s Mercy, featuring the introduction of a Kid Commissioner who will help welcome Commissioner Brett Yormark during his address.
Coverage on the main set will air on ESPNU and ESPN+ from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT each day. Matt Schick, Brooke Weisbrod, Anne O’Neil and Rachel Galligan will host on the women’s day, while Schick, Fran Fraschilla, Sean Farnham and Chancellor Johnson will cover the men’s day. The women’s sessions will take place Tuesday, Oct. 21 followed by the men’s on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Commissioner Brett Yormark will speak at 12:10 p.m. CT Tuesday, preceded and followed by Q&A sessions with women’s head coaches and student-athletes moderated by Missy Heidrick starting at 8:55 a.m. CT. On Wednesday, the men’s head coaches and student-athletes will participate in Q&A sessions hosted by Mike O’Donnell beginning at 8:40 a.m. CT. A feed of all press conferences and interviews will be available on ESPN+.

TuneIn Radio will also be at T-Mobile Center, recording interviews with coaches and student-athletes that will air leading up to the season. Ari Temkin and James Westling will be joined by Austyn Iven for the women's day and King McClure for the men's.

The 2024-25 Big 12 women’s basketball season marked the first time the Conference has had at least five teams finish the season ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll in consecutive seasons since 2010 (2008-10). The league has sent multiple teams to the Sweet 16 in four of the last five NCAA tournaments and has had at least two teams in the regional semifinals in 22 of the last 25 tournaments, tied for the second-highest percentage (88%) of any league during that span.

On the men’s side, four Big 12 teams reached the Sweet 16 in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, with Texas Tech advancing to the Elite 8 and Houston finishing as a National Finalist. The Conference had the nation’s best winning percentage in the NCAA Tournament, as seven teams were selected for the Big Dance.

A full list of attending players is included below. Each school’s head coach will also be in attendance.
