Oklahoma State swept the Big 12 Rider of the Month awards for November. Blake Rowan (fences), Sophia Tabasso (flat), June Roberson (horsemanship) and Emma Filiatreau (reining) earned the honors. Roberson and Filiatreau also claimed NCEA Rider of the Month in their disciplines.
Rowan went 2-1 through the month of November while picking up her first MOP nods against then-No.7 Baylor and then-No. 10 UC Davis. The freshman scored a career-high 90.5 in a victory against Baylor to earn her first career MOP. She wrapped up her fall slate with an 86-76 win against Fresno State, where she picked up the second MOP of her career. This is the animal science’s first Conference award.
Tabasso earned the first monthly conference honor of her career with a 2-1 record. The freshman posted a career-high 86.5 against Baylor for her second win of the season. She then notched her largest career margin of victory, 85.5-75, clinching the Cowgirls' tiebreaker win over Fresno State by raw score.
With a 3-0 record and two MOP awards in horsemanship, Roberson became the first athlete this season to earn consecutive rider of the month honors. The senior averaged 74.1 and extended her win streak to nine, dating back to last season. With 32 career wins, she is tied for the sixth most wins in program history.
Filiatreau stayed undefeated (5-0) after going 3-0 in November. She has now recorded an eight-ride win streak dating back to the end of last season. She earned MOP honors against Baylor and UC Davis, her sixth and seventh career awards. The junior averaged 71.2 points in November with a win margin of 3.7. This is her third monthly Big 12 award of her career.
