UCF’s Felton and TTU’s Lindemuth Earn Big 12 Softball Weekly Honors

UCF’s Kaitlyn Felton (pitcher) and Texas Tech’s Bailey Lindemuth (player) earned this week’s Big 12 honors following their performances during the opening week of league play for the Wildcats and the Red Raiders.

Felton earned a win and a save in the circle for the Knights at then-No. 9/7 Arizona. The senior made an appearance in the sixth inning as the closer during the conference opener, where she held the Wildcats hitless and scoreless in 1.2 innings as UCF claimed a 9-3 win. She then pitched a team-high 3.1 innings Saturday giving up only one unearned run off three hits during the 5-4 UCF victory to take the series. This is her second honor this season.

Lindemuth led the league during the week with a .625 batting average, recording at least a hit in each game against then-No. 15/13 Oklahoma State. The freshman from Burleson, Texas, ended her first Big 12 game with a walk-off two-run homerun, which led the Red Raiders to a 9-0 victory during the series opener. She would finish the week with five hits in eight at-bats.
