OSU’s Hasler, Meylan Named Big 12 Softball Players of the Week

Oklahoma State swept the Big 12 Softball Players of the Week as Amanda Hasler earned Player of the Week and Ruby Meylan was honored as Pitcher of the Week.

Hasler posted five runs, four RBI and three runs in seven plate appearances during last week’s series against Baylor. After losing the opener 1-0, the junior bounced back with a home run and three RBI to a 9-5 win over the Bears. She ended the weekend by hitting the series-clinching walk-off home run. During the week, Hasler led the league with a .714 batting average and a 1.714 slugging percentage. This is the NC State transfer’s first Big 12 honor.

Meylan collected her second Conference weekly award this season as she posted a 2-1 record in the circle for 16.1 innings. While earning a loss in the series opener, she tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts and did not allow an earned run. In the remaining two games of the series, she served as a relief pitcher, holding opponents to a .158 batting average and only allowing nine hits. Meylan was one of four league pitchers with a 0.00 ERA during Week Seven, while she pitched the most innings and recorded the week’s most strikeouts (17).
