Baylor and Oklahoma State Procure February Big 12 Equestrian Awards

Baylor’s Madison Mitchell (fences) and Alexis Rutledge (horsemanship) as well as Oklahoma State’s Riley Hogan (flat) and Emma Filiatreau (reining) were named the Big 12 Equestrian Riders of the Month for February.

Mitchell finished February with a 3-0 record including an MOP performance against No. 7 Fresno State. The Clarkson, Michigan native averaged a score of 79.5 through her three competitions with a win margin average of 4.6 points. The Bears won the Fences discipline in all three matches she competed in.

Hogan won her sole competition in the month as she tallied an 83.5-81 victory against No. 10 Baylor to earn MOP honors for the flat discipline. The win improved her record to 7-2 and her eighth MOP this season.

Rutledge led the Bears in horsemanship with three individual wins to finish the month unblemished. The senior from Altoona, Iowa averaged a score of 74.9 across the three outings, highlighted by an MOP against No. 4 Oklahoma State (75.5). Her win margin of 2.8 helped Baylor take the discipline against Fresno State and South Dakota State.

Filiatreau added her fourth MOP of the season against No. 10 Baylor in the reining discipline after tagging a score of 71.5. The sophomore has won five consecutive rides and sits at 7-2 on the season after her performance against the Bears.
