TULSA, Oklahoma- Oklahoma State extended its Big 12 record with its 12
th team title at the Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship, winning the 2025 event by 11 strokes. The Cowboys’ Preston Stout became the third two-time individual winner of the event, joining an exclusive fraternity with Morgan Hoffmann (Oklahoma State) and Ludvig Aberg (Texas Tech).
The Pokes finished at -2 after posting their third consecutive under-par round at Southern Hills Country Club. Oklahoma State fired a 3-under 277 in the final round, clinching the program’s first Big 12 title since 2021. Arizona State finished second at the par 70 / 7,556-yard track, carding a +9. Texas Tech (+28), Houston (+29) and TCU (+34) rounded out the top five at the nine-time major championship host site.
Stout raced out of the gates Thursday, birdieing four of his first five holes on the way to a 67. It was the best round of the tournament for the sophomore, who shot even par in each of his first three rounds. The Richardson, Texas native finished the event with a 3-under 277, two strokes ahead of Arizona State’s Connor Williams (-1), the only other player to finish below par.
After tying for first place last season at Whispering Pines, Stout becomes just the second back-to-back individual Big 12 Champion, joining Aberg, who won in 2022 and 2023. This marks the 12
th time an OSU player has won medalist honors at the Big 12 Championship, and he joins Hoffmann (2009 and 2011) as two-time winners from the school.
The top 10 and ties were named to the All-Tournament team. Joining Stout and Williams were Wolfgang Glawe (Houston) and Michael Mjaaseth (Arizona State), who finished at even par, plus Josele Ballester (Arizona State), Ethan Fang (Oklahoma State), Connor Graham (Texas Tech), Joe Pagdin (TCU), Eric Lee (Oklahoma State) and Filip Jakubcik (Arizona).
Oklahoma State receives the Big 12’s automatic bid to NCAA Regionals (May 12-14).
