STILLWATER, Okla. - Top-seeded Oklahoma State clinched its sixth consecutive Big 12 title and 12th in program history by defeating No. 3-seeded TCU 14-8. It marked the sixth straight time the two programs have met in the Championship final.
The Cowgirls took four of the five points in the fences discipline, behind a meet high score of 88.33 points from Blake Rowan which earned her MOP. Lauren Gee (76.66), Sophia Tabasso (86.33) and Ellie DuPuis (85.33) grabbed the other three points. For the Horned Frogs, Kyla Sullivan (84) earned the lone point.
Oklahoma State clinched the flat discipline behind Mackenzie Carreras (74.33), Cadence Kueker (73.33) and Tabasso (79.66). Gable Gering posted an 81.33 ride earning her the flat MOP. Hanna Dolan (73.33) grabbed the Horned Frogs' only flat point.
Jalyn McElmurray (77), Alana Stanton (73.67), Bella D’Onofrio (75.83) and June Roberson (75.67) secured the Horsemanship discipline for the Cowgirls, while TCU’s Piper Keller (75.5) collected the remaining point. McElmurray earned the horsemanship MOP recognition for the Championship.
In the closest contest of the day, Oklahoma State grabbed three of the reining points led by Ava Bush (73), Ayden Welman (68.33) and Emma Filiatreau (70.83). The Horned Frogs picked up the last two points with help from reining MOP Cassie Hacking (72.5) and Sydney Sargent (69.83), bringing the final score to 14-3.
