For the first time in program history, Iowa State won the Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship presented by Allstate. The Cyclones had the best round of the tournament, with a 7-under 281 to win the tournament at Dallas Athletic Club by six strokes.
ISU’s Nichakorn Pinprayoon and UCF’s Mila Jurine tied at -7 to share the Conference individual title. Playing in the next-to-last group, Jurine snaked in a long birdie putt at the 18
th green to tie Pinprayoon at -7. As Jurine was turning in the best scorecard of the tournament, a 6-under 66, Pinprayoon sent her tee shot at the last into the penalty area. Needing to get up and down from over 150 yards out, the Cyclone sophomore put her third shot on the fringe, then drained a 25-foot par putt, clinching a 5-under 67 and a share of the title.
Pinprayoon’s title marks the second time in three years Iowa State has had at least one of the Big 12 Co-Champions, while Jurine is the Knights’ first individual women’s golf champion since joining Conference for the 2023-24 season.
The Cyclones built their lead with eight birdies from their five players on the first two holes of the par 72 / 6,270-yard Gold Course, immediately erasing a six-stroke deficit. Houston posted its best finish in three tries at the Big 12 Championship, capturing second at +1. UCF was third at +6, followed by a tie at +10 between Arizona State and Oklahoma State.
The top 12 finishers and ties received recognition to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team. Houston’s Maelynn Kim nabbed third place at -3, followed by Arizona State’s Patience Rhodes at -2. UCF’s Pimpisa Sisutham, Houston’s Natalie Saint Germain and Oklahoma State’s Ellie Bushnell finished under par at -1 and were joined on the All-Tournament Team by Arizona State’s Fy Rubrong, BYU’s Lily McCauley, Houston’s Moa Svedenskiold, Iowa State’s Pammy Chookaew, Oklahoma State’s Marta Silchenko and Summer Lee, TCU’s Kirstin Agnosta and Texas Tech’s Denisa Vodickova.
While Iowa State captures the Big 12’s automatic bid to NCAA Regionals, the remainder of the Big 12’s national contenders remain to learn their postseason fate during the NCAA Selection Show at 4 p.m. CT on Wednesday, April 29 on Golf Channel.
