Oklahoma State In Front After 36 At Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship presented by Allstate

Oklahoma State leads after the first day of the Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship presented by Allstate, tying a Championship record with a 546 after 36 holes. The Cowboys’ Preston Stout is the 36-hole individual leader, as he looks for an unprecedented third consecutive Conference individual title.

The Pokes broke the Big 12 Championship single-round record with a 13-under 267 in their second loop around Prairie Dunes Country Club, besting the mark set by the program in the 2019 second round. OSU, looking for its second consecutive Big 12 title, was buoyed by eight birdies and an eagle on the 531-yard, par 5 17th. Sitting at -14 after two rounds, Oklahoma State leads by seven strokes over Arizona (-7). Texas Tech was the only other team to finish under par, sitting in third at -1.

Stout took the solo lead with an eagle on his 35th hole of the day, posting a 67-65 for a 132—the second-best gross 36-hole score in the history of the Championship. At -8, the junior from Richardson, Texas leads by two strokes over BYU’s Kihei Akina.

Akina was the 18-hole leader, as he became the third player, and the first since Texas Tech’s Ludvig Aberg in 2023, to shoot 63 at the Big 12 Championship. Akina started the event with three consecutive birdies, then followed with a later streak of four consecutive, finishing Monday at -6. Hudson Weibel (Houston), Gaven Lane (Oklahoma State) and Tim Wiedemeyer (Texas Tech) are tied for third at -4.

Teams return to the par 70 / 6,903-yard Perry and Press Maxwell design for the third of four rounds on Tuesday, with the first balls going into the air off of No. 1 and No. 10 tee at 10 a.m. CT. Live scoring is available on Clippd.
