After wrapping up competing in the NCAA West Regional meet in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Kansas State’s Tah Chikomba, BYU’s Jane Hedengren and Texas Tech’s
Temitope Adeshina were all named in the pre-NCAA Championship edition of The Bowerman Watchlist.
Chikomba made his debut on the watchlist after punching his ticket to the NCAA Championship in the long jump. The junior leaped 8.75 meters (28’ 8.5”) with a wind aide of 3.2, marking the best NCAA all-conditions jump. Chikomba is the first wildcat since 2013 to appear on The Bowerman Watchlist.
Hedengren is the second Cougar to be named to all seven watchlist updates in a season. The freshman clocked a time of 31:27.30, setting a new John McDonnell Field (University of Arkansas) facility record in her second attempt at the women’s 10,000 meters, punching her ticket to the national championship.
Adeshina earned her place at the NCAA Championship in the women’s high jump, clearing 1.87 meters (6’-1.5”) to win the West Regional title. She was one of two competitors with no misses in the event.
Texas Tech’s Jonathan Seremes received votes on the men’s ballot.
Semifinalists will be announced late in June.
All three will be in action at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, June 10-13. The Championship will air on the ESPN family of networks.
