Iowa State’s Joseph and Kansas’ Meacham Collect Weekly Big 12 Track and Field Honors

Iowa State’s Rachel Joseph and Kansas’ Anthony Meacham were named the Big 12 Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets through May 3.

Joseph won the Texas A&M Alumni Muster 400-meters title, clocking a time of 50.55, recording her best time in the event. The senior set a new meet record and now holds the Iowa State program record in the event, tying for fifth nationally. This is the first weekly accolade for Joseph this season and the second of her career.

On the men’s side, Meacham won the Rock Chalk Classic pole vault title, with a vault of 5.81 meters (19-0.75 feet). With the mark, the senior leads the NCAA this season. Meacham became the first Big 12 men’s outdoor track and field athlete to earn three weekly awards in a season.
