Kevin Chelimo (Texas Tech) was named the Big 12 Male Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, while Ashley Brown (Nebraska) was named Female Athlete of the Week for meets of March 27-April 2.

Chelimo finished the 10,000M in an NCAA automatic time of 28:21.29. The mark set a school record as well as personal best for Chelimo. The broken record was 29:37.54, while his previous personal record was 29:39.30. Chelimo's time is the second-fastest mark in the nation thus far for the men's 10,000M.

Ruskule competed for Nebraska for the first time in 2007 and placed fourth in the women's discus with the No. 1 throw in the Big 12 this season (180-5). Ruskule appeared in a field with several professional athletes and was the top collegian finisher. The reigning NCAA discus champion currently ranks third nationally this season with the effort.
