Kevin Chelimo (Texas Tech) and Sally Kepyego (Texas Tech) were named Cross Country Runners of the Week for meets from Sept. 29-Oct. 1.

Finishing the 4.97 mile course with a time of 24:13.53, Chelimo claimed first place at the Murray Keatinge Invitational. The second place runner trailed behind Chelimo by 16 seconds. Chelimo's finish marks his second top-three finish of the season as he placed third in his first meet of the year, the Red Raider Jackrabbit Open.

Kipyego marked her second first place finish at the Murray Keatinge Invitational with her 16:11.82 time for the 5K race. Her time broke the course record by 22 seconds, previously held by 1996 NCAA cross country champion Amy Skieresz of Arizona.
