Texas A&M converted on eight free kicks to advance to the Big 12
semifinals over No. 8 seed Iowa State after the teams played to a 1-1
tie in double overtime at Blossom Soccer Stadium.
The No. 1 seeded Aggies got on the board fi rst as forward
Ashlee Pistorius headed an Amy Berand cross to Elisabeth Jones who put
the ball just past the hands of Iowa State's Ann Gleason in the 24th
minute.
Iowa State evened the score in the 84th minute when Iowa
State's Amanda Nintz scored from point blank off an Elisa Berzins'
assist. After two scoreless overtimes, the game moved to free kicks.
Both squads connected on their first seven attempts, before
each team changed goalkeepers. A&M's Kelly Dyer came in for Kristin
Arnold to block Iowa State's next shot, giving the Aggies the

Costanzo replaced Ann Gleason but was unable to block Elisabeth Jones'
shot, advancing A&M.
Texas A&M will face the winner of the Texas Tech/Missouri match on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
