The 4x100-meter relay team of Mantas Silkauskas, Jeffrey Julmis, Jason Coniglio and Martynas Jurgilas (Kansas State) along with Diamond Dixon (Kansas) have earned Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week honors for May 10. This is the first honor for Dixon and for each of the members of the KSU relay team. The last time the Conference honored a relay team was on April 1, 2008.

4x100-meter Relay Team, Kansas State - Mantas Silkauskas, Jeffrey Julmis, Jason Coniglio, Martynas Jurgilas
Silkauskas, Julmis, Coniglio and Jurgilas won the 4x100-meter relay at the Ward Haylett Invitational last weekend, setting a K-State and facility record with a time of 39.46 seconds. The time broke the previous school record of 39.79 set in 1991. The previous R.V. Christian Track Complex facility record was held by Nebraska and set at the 2005 Big 12 Championship at 39.59. The time ranks fourth in the Big 12 this season and 13th on the NCAA list.

Diamond Dixon, Kansas, Fr., El Paso, Texas
Dixon finished in a season's best time of 52.96 in the 400 meters at the Arkansas Twilight Meet on Friday, a KU school record. The freshman, who also competed as a member of the Jayhawk 4x100-meter relay team, trimmed nearly seven tenths of a second off her previous collegiate-best time of 53.62, which she ran at the Kansas Relays in late April. Her time moves her up to third in the Big 12 and 13th in the NCAA. It is just .04 off of her lifetime best of 52.92.
