Oklahoma State’s Nolan Boyd has been named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for competition taking place from Dec. 15 to Dec. 22. It is the first Big 12 Weekly Award of Boyd’s career.

Nolan Boyd improved to 12-1 on the season after winning the 184-pound title at the Reno Tournament of Champions. The sophomore was also named Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament for his performance. In the semifinals, Boyd pinned No. 19 Ben Stroh of Wyoming in 4:50. The fall was his second of the tournament.
In the finals, Boyd dominated the tournament’s top-seed in Taylor Meeks of Oregon State, 9-3. Meeks in currently ranked No. 5 nationally at 184 pounds. Boyd is now 2-1 over ranked opponents and has notched two falls, a tech fall and a major decision so far this season.
