The National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) announced its All-America teams, which included 27 Big 12 nods. Three Big 12 programs were recognized, including seven Oklahoma gymnasts, four Denver gymnasts and one from West Virginia.
Oklahoma led the conference with a program-best 16 regular season All-America awards. This marks the sixth time the Sooners’ have totaled double-digit honors. OU also led all teams with the most overall selections, while also boasting the most honorees on vault, bars and beam.
Denver earned a combined 10 total awards, making it the first time in program history that more than two Pioneers earned regular season All-American nods in the same season. Kirah Koshinski became the first WVU gymnast in 13 years to earn All-America First Team accolades.
Regular season All-America honors are based on an individual’s final national qualifying score (NQS) prior to regional competition. First team honorees are ranked 1-8 nationally, and second team designees are ranked 9-16.
