Texas’ First Varsity Four earned Big 12 Boat of the Week for the fifth week of competition.

The No. 4 Texas 1V4+ held its own against No. 7 Princeton and No. 9 Yale, racing to come back from a length of open water to a strong Yale boat. The Longhorns started chipping away in the third 500 meters and closed the gap to a length with 500 meters to go. The crew finished at 7:04.3, ahead of Yale by 1.3 seconds and Princeton by 9.4.

This is the first weekly award of the season for the Longhorns.
