KU, OSU, and TTU Nab Final Indoor Weekly Accolades

Kansas’ Rylee Anderson claims Women’s Athlete of the Week while Oklahoma State’s Fouad Messaoudi and Texas Tech’s Antoine Andrews were named Co-Men’s Athletes of the Week for the last set of weekly honors for the 2023 Big 12 Indoor Track and Field season.

Anderson had another record-breaking performance at the Tyson Invitational where she cleared 1.90m (6’2.75”). Earlier in the season, she set the Kansas high jump record at 1.88m (6’2”). Anderson now owns the top-four jumps in program history while leading the Conference this season.

Messaoudi ran the 3,000 meters with a time of 7:41.63 at the Husky Classic. His record broke the school and Conference records while ranking seventh-best in NCAA history. The sophomore has the third-best 3,000m time in the nation this season and ranks No. 20 in the world in the event.

Andrews had a first-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.59 at Texas Tech’s Jarvis Scott Open. In his fifth race of the season, the freshman broke the program record that had been untouched for 13 years. His time sits atop the Conference, ranks third in the NCAA and is No. 14 in the world rankings.

The 2023 Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championship will be held on February 24-25, hosted by Texas Tech at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas. The Championship will be aired on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
