TTU’s Aberg and BU’s Belsham Claim February’s Monthly Golf Awards

Texas Tech's Ludvig Aberg earns his second consecutive Big 12 Men’s Golfer of the Month while Rosie Belsham is the second Baylor Bear to be named the Women’s Golfer of the Month during the 2022-23 campaign.

Aberg had a 69.0 stroke average in February and recorded wins against ranked opponents during the month. He registered a 7&6 win over North Carolina’s then-ranked No. 15 David Ford, as No. 3-ranked Texas Tech claimed a victory over No. 4-ranked UNC in a match-play event, a make-up event after the Amer Ari Invitational was canceled due to high wins. In his second competition of the month, the Oslov, Sweden native became the first men’s golfer to “three-peat” the individual title at The Prestige at PGA West after he fired a 1-under-par in the final round. The senior was at par or below in all three rounds and helped Tech to a second-place finish against five ranked teams.

Belsham claimed her first career win along with two other top-five finishes in February. She beat the No. 6-ranked player in the country to take the individual title at the Collegiate Invitational while Baylor claimed the team title. The junior then placed fifth in the player leaderboards during the T. Hession Regional Challenge where she fired six birdies in the final round. The Whitley Bay, England native ended the month tied for third at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate where Baylor faced 15 of the best programs in the country. She claimed one of three bogey-free rounds that happened in the competition. Belsham had a 70.56 stroke average during the month and was at par or better in six of her nine rounds.
