ASU’s Davis, BU’s Kelley Named Big 12 Track and Field Athletes of the Week

Arizona State’s Jayden Davis (men’s) and Baylor’s Tiriah Kelley (women’s) earned the Big 12 Track and Field’s Athletes of the Week awards following their performance at the Texas Tech’s Corky Classic last week.

Davis won the men’s 4x400 with a time of 46.24 before he helped the men’s 4x400-meter relay team to a second-place finish (3:30.57). His 400-meter time is the fastest in the Conference and ranks second in the nation. The Sun Devils, who claimed the men’s 4x400m title at last year’s NCAA Indoor Championship, hold this season’s second-fastest mark. Davis is the first Sun Devil to claim a Big 12 Indoor Track and Field honor.

Kelley sprinted the world’s fastest time of 22.73 in the women’s 200 meters at the Corky Classic where she was one of six Big 12 student-athletes to place within the event’s top 10 marks. Her mark also set a BU program record as she extended her winning streak in the women’s 200-meter dash to two consecutive titles. This is her first Big 12 Women’s Athlete of the Week award while being the first Baylor woman to claim the indoor award since 2022.
