ISU’s Goellner and TTU’s Lasmane Earn Big 12 ITF Weekly Accolades

Iowa State’s Braden Goellner (men’s) and Texas Tech’s Ruta Lasmane (women’s) garnered Week Three’s Big 12 indoor track and field weekly honors.

Goellner claimed first place in the men’s high jump during ISU’s Cyclone Open. The sophomore set a personal record as he cleared 2.21 meters. His mark leads the Big 12 while it sits at No. 3 in this season’s top marks nationally. Goellner is the first Cyclone on the men’s side to earn a Conference indoor track and field honor since Edward Kemboi during the 2015 season.

Lasmane leaped 14.00 meters during her final women’s triple jump attempt at the Red Raider Invite. No women’s collegiate athletes have jumped farther and she is one of four women to reach the 14-meter mark in the world this season. This is her first indoor award and second career Big 12 track and field weekly honor.
