Colorado’s Hope Leyba (offensive) and Jordan Nytes (goalkeeper), along with TCU’s Emma Yolinsky (freshman) and West Virginia’s Jacey Rase (defensive) captured Big 12 Soccer’s Week 11 awards.
Leyba tallied three goals to lead the league’s point scorers with a combined six points in games against Texas Tech and Arizona. The junior opened up the week recording a brace as the then-No. 22/7 Buffaloes shut out then-No. 5/3 Red Raiders in a 3-0 victory. The performance was her fifth multi-goal outing this season. She then set the program’s single-season goal record (18) with the lone goal in the 1-0 contest against the Wildcats. Leyba claimed the record from four-time All-Big 12 first team selection Nikki Marshall, who scored 17 goals during the 2006 season.
Rase tallied 180 minutes in the WVU backline shutting out Iowa State and Oklahoma State. The Mountaineers’ defensive line held steady, holding the Cyclones to five shots with three on goal and the Cowgirls to zero shots on frame. WVU has claimed 10 shutouts this season, which is the team’s most in a season since 2022, while heading into the conference finale undefeated 7-0-3 in league play. Rase is the third defender from the Mountaineers to claim the league’s weekly award this season as WVU has held all opponents to 13 goals and has scored 34.
Nytes earned two clean sheets last week as CU picked up wins over Texas Tech and Arizona. She matched a career-high 10 saves to hold TTU scoreless for the second time this year as the Red Raiders have scored a goal in 13 games this season. The senior then captured two saves against the Wildcats to become the Buffs career shutout leader with her 26
th clean sheet during the 1-0 victory. This is her third consecutive Big 12 honor of the 2025 campaign.
Yolinsky’s goal in the first half against Arizona helped the Horned Frogs earn a win to stay atop the Big 12 standings. Credited with the game winner, the goal was her second game-winning goal during her debut season. The first-year player from Prosper, Texas, then rounded out her week with 60 minutes against Arizona State and took three shots as TCU won the match with a 2-1 scoreline. Yolinsky is the second freshman from TCU to capture the league’s Freshman of the Week honor.
