Baylor’s Tiriah Kelley and Texas Tech’s Temitope Adeshina and Jonathan Seremes, were named Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week after competing in Texas Tech's Corky Classic.
Kelley started her senior campaign winning the 200-meter dash with an NCAA-leading time of 22.56. She owns this season’s fastest time in the event, with the nearest competitor half a second behind. Kelley’s time broke her previous program record, set last year at the meet. This is the second Big 12 track and field weekly accolade of her career.
Across the facility, Adeshina claimed her first high jump title of the season, clearing 1.93 meters. The junior shares the best mark in NCAA Division I on the women’s side, placing her second in the world standings. This is the second indoor weekly award Adeshina has been tabbed for and the third overall Big 12 track honor.
After being named to The Bowerman Preseason Watch List, Seremes opened the indoor season winning the triple jump with a 16.79-meter mark. The junior now holds the best mark in both the world and NCAA Division I. This is the Missouri transfer’s first Big 12 weekly award.
