Baylor’s Devin Badenhorst (men’s) and TCU’s Raquel Caballero Chica (women’s) were named the Big 12 Tennis Athletes of the Week for matches through March 22.

On the doubles court, Badenhorst paired with Blake Anderson to push Arizona’s duo of Alejandro Arcila and Cole Stelse to 3-5 before the Wildcats claimed the doubles point. From the top court, the junior defeated Arizona’s No. 3-ranked Jay Friend in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0. During the weekend slate, Badenhorst claimed another ranked win over Arizona State’s No. 100 Bor Artnak, 6-2, 6-1, to help lead the Bears’ sweep over Arizona State.

For the women, Cabellero helped clinch the doubles point with partner Jennifer Jackson after dispatching Oklahoma State’s Melisa Ercan and Karolina Lincer, 6-1. The junior then tied the match at 3-3 for the Horned Frogs after defeating OSU’s Olivia Lincer, 4-6, 6-1, 7-5. Against Kansas State, Caballero won against Martaa Chogsomjav in straight sets 7-6(2), 6-2 to help lead TCU to a 4-0 victory over the Wildcats.
