Arizona’s Martyna Ostrzygalo and Baylor’s Devin Badenhorst were named the Big 12 Tennis Players of the Week for matches through March 30
Ostrzygalo began the weekend by clinching Arizona's win over Iowa State, defeating No. 82 Maria De La Paz Alberto, 6-0, 4-6, 7-5. On Sunday against Kansas, the senior paired with Tanvi Narendran to secure the doubles point by defeating Meriem Ben Ezzedine and Kyoka Kubo, 6-1. From the top singles court, Ostrzygalo then sealed the match with a straight set victory over the Jayhawks’ Jubo, 6-3, 6-4.
On the men’s side, Badenhorst led the Bears to a clean sweep against No. 39 Oklahoma State, No. 12 UCF, and Creighton. From the doubles court, he paired with Calvin Baierl, where they defeated the Knights’ Luca Hotze and Nicolas Oliveira, 6-2, and Creighton’s Yuma Daijima and Kirtan Patel, 6-3. In singles play, Badenhorst defeated OSU’s Alessio Basile in straight sets 7-5, 6-3, helping Baylor seal the victory. Against UCF, the senior earned a ranked win over No. 71-ranked Yassine Dlimi 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, clinching the match for the Bears.
