Arizona’s Gustafsson and Texas Tech’s Dmitrichenko Collect Last Weekly Big 12 Tennis Awards

Arizona’s Filip Gustafsson (men’s) and Texas Tech’s Yekaterina Dmitrichenko (women’s) collected the last Big 12 tennis weekly accolade for matches through April 13.

Gustafsson went undefeated in his final regular season matches. From the doubles court, the sophomore paired with Glib Sekachov to clinch the doubles point, 6-3 against No. 15 UCF. In singles play, Gustafsson defeated the Knights' No. 123-ranked Wissam Abderrahman, 6-3, 6-3. In the match against OSU, Gustafsson helped seal the match for the Wildcats, winning against Nicolas Kobelt, 6-2, 6-3.

On the women’s side, Dmitrichenko finished her last two matches with a 4-0 record. From the doubles court, the senior paired with Hailey Murphy to dispatch TCU’s Victoria Gomez O’Hayon and Yu-Chin Tsai, 6-1. Dmitrichenko went on to win her singles match 6-3, 6-0, defeating the Horned Frogs' Cristina Ramos Sierra. Against the Bears, the No. 77-ranked Dmitrichenko and Murphy duo shut out Gabrielle Villegas and Zuzanna Kubacha, 6-0, to help the Lady Raiders clinch the doubles point. Dmitrichenko then clinched the match in singles play, defeating No. 114 Kubacha, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3, earning her second ranked win of the season.
