UCF’s Naomi Clark (offensive) and Arizona State’s Emmie Ennis (defensive) headline Big 12 soccer’s weekly awards, along with K-State’s Maddie Sibbing (goalkeeper) and ASU’s Mya Angus (freshman).
Clark posted her first career hat trick as the Knights took on UAB. She knocked in her first goal only 27 seconds into the match before scoring in the 71st and 79th minutes. The three-goal performance was the first by a UCF player since 2018. The Oklahoma transfer has tallied six goals in four games to lead the nation in points per game (3.50) and top the Big 12 in goals per game (1.50) and points (14). Clark is the first UCF offensive player to win the league’s weekly honor since joining the Conference in 2023.
Ennis helped the Sun Devils tally two wins by shutting down their opponents on defense. She scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory over LSU before dishing out an assist in the 2-0 win over Cal Poly. Both ASU opponents were held to shooting below their per-match averages, as the Sun Devils allowed a combined four shots on goal. Ennis is the first ASU defender to capture the league’s weekly honor.
Sibbing tallied her third consecutive clean sheet as the Wildcats earned a 0-0 draw with Nebraska. The junior grabbed a season-high six saves, which included rejecting a penalty kick. It was the first time since 2021 that a Wildcat goalkeeper prevented an opponent from converting a penalty kick opportunity. The league leader in goals-against average (.20) has recorded three shutouts this season. This is Sibbing’s third Conference weekly honor after being recognized twice last season.
Angus saw action in both of ASU’s matches last week, helping the Sun Devils extend their winning streak to three matches and an undefeated record of 4-0-1. Angus netted her first collegiate goal off a pass from teammate Emmie Ennis in the 82nd minute against Cal Poly. Angus is the fourth Sun Devil to earn a weekly award this season and is the second consecutive player from ASU to capture the league’s accolade for first-year players.
Week Four for the Big 12 begins on Thursday with games also scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. The league tied its record for teams ranked in this week’s IWSOC/United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll with six. No. 7 West Virginia, No. 13 UCF, No. 14 BYU, No. 19 TCU, No. 22 Baylor and No. 24 Colorado were voted to the list with Kansas and Texas Tech receiving votes.
