Eight Programs Ranked in ITA Preseason Poll

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced its preseason poll ahead of the 2020 season with five men’s programs and three Big 12 women’s squads ranked.
 
On the men’s side, defending national champion Texas is the preseason No. 2 team in the country, three spots ahead of No. 5 Baylor. No other conference has two teams ranked in the top-five of the men’s poll. TCU checks in at No. 8, followed by No. 15 Oklahoma State and No. 22 Oklahoma.
 
For the women, Texas leads all Big 12 programs at No. 7, with No. 11 Oklahoma State and No. 19 Kansas also earning spots in the poll. Additionally, Baylor received votes.
 
The 2020 season opens this weekend, as five women’s teams and one men’s program will compete in tournaments. Conference play begins Sunday, March 1 for the women and Friday, March 27 for the men.
