The 2020 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championship is set to begin at The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown, West Virginia on Wednesday, February 26. The event, hosted by West Virginia for the first time in Conference history, runs through Saturday, February 29.
Texas swept the 2019 championship, taking home the men’s and women’s titles for the seventh consecutive year. The women’s team has won 17 total team championships, while the men’s team has taken the Conference title every year since the league’s inception in 1996-97.
Five Big 12 Championship records were set last year, all by Texas, with two coming on the final day. Ryan Harty’s performance in the 200-yard backstroke (1:38.61) bested a record that stood for just one year. Joanna Evans set the Championship record in the 1,650-yard free with a time of 15:57.28, breaking a time that stood for nine years.
The Championship will begin on Wednesday with time trials scheduled for 9 a.m. CT/10 a.m. ET. Men’s 1-meter diving preliminaries will begin at 3 p.m. CT/4 p.m. ET, followed by 200-meter relay, men’s 1-meter diving and 800-freestyle relay finals set for 4 p.m. CT/5 p.m. ET.
Admission on Wednesday is free for the entirety of the day. Tickets to all preliminary competitions running Thursday through Saturday are $6, while finals tickets are $10. Tickets can be purchased online at The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park Box Office.
Streaming for the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championship will begin at 5 p.m. CT/6 p.m. ET until the conclusion of the day’s events, beginning on Thursday and running through the end of the Championship. All coverage will take place on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
