Another Meet Record Falls as ASU Leads After Day Three of Swimming & Diving Championship

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Arizona State leads both the men’s and women’s standings after the third day of the 2025 Big 12 Swimming & Diving Championship, with the men’s team accumulating 1,123.5 points, while the women’s team has 898.

The night started with the men’s 1-meter diving as TCU’s David Ekdahl claimed gold with a final score of 383.10. Utah’s Elias Petersen (382.85) and TCU’s Elliott Dillon (330.90) finished with silver and bronze, respectively.

In the women’s 100 butterfly, ASU’s Julia Ullmann ended the race with a time of 51.40 for the event title, while Cincinnati’s Joleigh Crye (52.13) and TCU’s Jeanne Dahmen (52.85) rounded out the podium.

ASU’s Ilya Kharun won the gold medal in the men’s 100 butterfly, clocking an NCAA A-cut time of 44.13 while teammate Filip Senc-Samardzic (44.93) took the silver, just ahead of Arizona’s Haakon Naughton for bronze (44.94).

On the women’s side, ASU’s Sonia Vaishnani won the 400 IM with an NCAA B-cut time of 4:10.28. Charli Brown (4:10.33) took the second medal of the event for the Sun Devils with silver, while Cincinnati’s Libby Michel (4:13.75) earned bronze.

The men’s 400 IM saw ASU’s Michael Hochwalt take gold (3:41.40), leading a podium sweep for the Sun Devils with Daniel Matheson (3:41.45) and Cale Martter (3:42.29) securing silver and bronze, respectively.

In the women’s 200 freestyle, ASU’s Erin Milligan finished with the gold (1:45.41), followed by Arizona’s Kayman Neal (1:45.85) and ASU’s Elli Straume (1:46.67).

ASU’s Patrick Sammon won the men’s 200 freestyle with a time of 1:31.57, while teammate Jonny Kulow (1:32.41) and Arizona’s Tomas Lukminas (1:32.44) completed the top three.

In the women’s 3-meter diving, TCU’s Anna Kwong took the crown with a score of 372.75, while Kansas’ Shiyun Lai (369.20) earned silver. Arizona’s Brooke Earley placed third with a score of 345.85.

The night ended with the men’s and women’s 400 medley relays as ASU’s men’s relay team (Vergnes, Dobrzanski, Kharun, Kulow) won the men’s event with a meet-record time of 3:00.55, while Arizona (3:03.68) and TCU (3:06.67) secured silver and bronze, respectively.

In the women’s relay, ASU (Bentz, Adame, Ullmann, Milligan) clinched gold with an NCAA A-cut time of 3:30.09, followed by Arizona (3:31.83) and Houston (3:31.95) to round out the podium.

The top four individuals in each event earned All-Big 12 first team honors, while fifth through eighth-place finishers were named to the second team. Full results can be viewed here.
