IRVING, Texas — The 2025 Big 12 Equestrian Championship will begin Friday, March 28 as TCU will host the competition at Bear Creek Farms in Burleson, Texas.
Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU and Fresno State will compete in four Equestrian disciplines: Fences, Flat, Horsemanship and Reining. All four programs finished the season ranked in the top 10 of the NCEA rankings as TCU came in at No. 3 followed by Oklahoma State (No. 5), Fresno State (No. 8) and Baylor (No. 9).
Oklahoma State won its fourth consecutive Conference title in 2024 as the Cowgirls defeated top-seeded TCU 10-9 for the 10
th Big 12 title in program history.
TCU enters the Championship as the top seed with a 5-1 Conference record and 9-4 overall. The Horned Frogs will compete against No. 4 Fresno State in the semifinal round, looking for their first Big 12 title after finishing runner-up in each of the last four seasons.
Fresno State enters the Conference Championship with its best regular season (7-6) record since 2019-20, the first year the Bulldogs competed in the Conference. The Bulldogs finished league play 2-4 while TCU won both regular season matchups, Fresno State will fight for its first Big 12 title in program history.
Oklahoma State aims for its fifth-straight Conference title as the Cowgirls were the second seed for the second consecutive year. OSU enters the postseason with a 7-5 overall record (3-3 Conference record) and will take on No. 3-seeded Baylor in the opening round.
Baylor will have its sights set on dethroning the Cowgirls after not competing against OSU in the Big 12 Championship in 2024. The Bears finished the season 5-6 and 2-4 in league competition and will aim for its first Big 12 title since 2019.
The Championship will kick off with the semifinal round at 10 a.m. CT Friday with all teams competing throughout the day. On Saturday, the championship round will begin at 10 a.m. CT. Admission is free.
