WACO, Texas – No. 1 Texas Tech, No. 2 UCF, No. 3 Oklahoma State and No. 4 Baylor advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 Big 12 Women’s Tennis Championship with wins Friday at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas. Saturday’s semifinal matchups will feature top-seeded Texas Tech facing No. 4 Baylor and No. 2 UCF taking on No. 3 Oklahoma State. Both matches are scheduled for 10 a.m. CT and will be streamed on ESPN+.
No. 3 Oklahoma State 4, No. 6 Arizona State 1
Oklahoma State won the doubles point with 6-2 wins from Kylie Collins and Marcela Lopez (court two) and Gracie Epps and Melisa Ercan (court three).
In singles, ASU tied the match early when Karsyn Evans won by retirement at No. 6. The Cowgirls then rattled off three consecutive straight-set wins from Anastasiya Komar (6-4, 6-4) at No. 2, Epps (6-3, 7-5) at No. 5, and Ercan (6-3, 7-5) on court one.
No. 1 Texas Tech 4, No. 8 Kansas 1
The Red Raiders secured the doubles point with 7-5 victories on courts two and three. Yekaterina Dmitrichenko and Hailey Murphy earned the win on court two, followed by Andreea Lila and Jermine Sherif on court three to end the session after Kansas claimed court one behind Heike Janse van Vuuren and Gracie Mulville (6-4).
In singles, Murphy (6-2, 6-1) pushed the score to 2-0 for the Lady Raiders at No. 5 before van Vuuren put KU on the board with a 6-4, 6-2 win on court three. Texas Tech responded with wins from Andreea Lila (6-3, 6-4) on court four and Jermine Sherif (6-2, 4-6, 6-4) on court six to clinch the match.
No. 2 UCF 4, No. 7 BYU 1
BYU struck first taking two of the three doubles courts for the doubles point. UCF’s Olivia Lincer and Hannah Rylatt (6-1) took the top court before Grace Levelston and Madison Smith evened things up with a 7-5 win on court three. Bobo Huang and Sue Yan Tan proved to be the difference-makers with a 7-6 (7-3) at No. 2 to clinch the portion.
UCF responded in singles by sweeping the singles matches. Jade Psonka earned a retirement win at No. 4 followed by Olivia Bergler notching a 6-0, 6-2 result at No. 5. Sophia Biolay made it 3-1 with a 6-2, 6-3 performance at No. 3 before Hannah Rylatt closed the match with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) win on court six.
No. 4 Baylor 4, No. 5 Arizona 3
Baylor secured the doubles point with wins from Liubov Kostenko and Cristina Tiglea (6-2) on court one and Sierra Berry and Zuzanna Kubacha (6-0) on court three.
The match took the full length as all six singles courts played to finish. Na Dong (6-4, 6-2) created a 2-0 lead for the Bears on court four before the Wildcats tacked on three consecutive points by Tanvi Narendran (6-4, 6-4) at No. 5, Martyna Ostrzygalo (6-4, 6-3) at No. 3 and Josie Usereau (7-5, 1-6, 6-2) on court one. Nanaka Sato (6-3, 4-6, 6-3) evened the score on court six before and Cristina Tiglea (3-6, 6-2, 6-4) pushed the Bears to the semifinals at the No. 2 court.
