TCU’s Allanis Navas and Sofia Izuzquiza were named the Big 12 Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week.

Navas and Izuzquiza picked up three wins against No. 1 UCLA, No. 4 Stanford and No. 9 Long Beach State at the Death Volley Invitational in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. All three wins came in straight sets at the No. 3 position and improved the duo’s record on the season to 10-0 while only dropping one set this spring. The Horned Frogs finished 3-0 at the invitational and have won 13 consecutive matches since March 7.

In her first year of collegiate competition, Izuzquiza upped her ranked wins total to 13 while the senior, Navas, has accumulated 53 in her career. The pairs’ point against top-ranked UCLA helped TCU finish a 3-0 sweep and secure the third win in program history against the Bruins.

The pair was also named the AVCA/CBVB National Pair of the Week.

The Horned Frogs will travel to the Wildcat Spring Challenge in Tucson, Arizona to take on Arizona, Arizona State, Pepperdine and Utah starting Friday, April 4 at 11 a.m. CT.
