IRVING, Texas --  Arizona State’s Olivia McElroy and Kendall Whitmarsh were named Big 12 Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week to begin the 2026 season. The duo posted a perfect 4-0 record at GCU’s Canyon Classic Tournament over the weekend, which included a pair of wins against No. 5 TCU and No. 13 Grand Canyon.

With a win over defending national champion TCU, McElroy and Whitmarsh helped ASU earn its second top-five victory in program history. The weekly Big 12 honor marks the fourth in Sun Devil history and the second of Whitmarsh’s career.

McElroy, Whitmarsh and the rest of the Sun Devil Beach Volleyball program will travel down I-10 to face in-state rival Arizona, as well as Georgia State, in this weekend’s Cactus Classic at Bear Down Beach in Tucson.
