IRVING, Texas – The South Carolina duo of Rachel Hartmann and Brooke Balue were named Big 12 Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week, following an undefeated 4-0 performance over the weekend at the Deland Cup in Florida. Hartmann and Balue earned the final weekly honor of the season with wins versus No. 16 Stetson, No. 19 North Florida, and No. 27 Georgia State on the No. 2 court.

The two are on a seven-match winning streak, en route to an 8-1 mark this season as the Gamecocks’ No. 2 pair, while helping the team win seven of its last 10 matches. The tandem’s award is USC’s first in its inaugural season as a Big 12 Beach Volleyball member.

South Carolina is the No. 4 seed at the Big 12 Beach Volleyball Championship presented by Allstate, which begins on Thursday, April 23 on the campus of the University of Arizona. The Conference Championship opens with pool play before a six-team, single elimination bracket on Friday.
